 Things I love about vintage styled homes: CLUSTERS! Clusters of photos and photo frames, clusters of cushions, clusters of ornaments and objects that compliment each other, basically...clusters.
  Colour palettes that are just that teeny tiny bit, for want of a better word, wrong. Technically, they shouldn't work. Visually, they just do.
 Mixing modern and vintage furniture. This has always been of one of my favourite elements with vintage styled homes. Throw in a new, shiny piece of furniture and you get a really interesting eclectic style going on.
 I find "the rules" should be almost the same in vintage fashion and vintage interiors. Don't go head to toe in vintage, and mixing eras is always a good idea for a more interesting look. Look at Betsey Johnson's amazing mustard dining chairs! I want them!

ribbons.

I have a little obsession with ribbons at the moment. My most recent window display is all about polka dot ribbons and I seem to be attaching a ribbon bow to every vintage blouse I put on for work.

I'm thinking a little DIY project on some of the vintage blouses in the store is in order!

A current obsession. I really want to keep this mint pencil skirt, but I have to remember to resist!

 No that I'm against the high street stores or anything, but I really do think vintage is better! It's cheaper, more unique and it's the real deal!

It's been a busy few weeks in the store. The Christmas rush is really in full swing! Lots of people purchasing pretty pressies such as knitted ties, cravates and leather gloves. Turquoise Flamingo also celebrated one year in business on Wednesday! Thank you all for your support the past year. It really has been an amazing year and here's to 2012!

 I can't belive it's only ten days to Christmas! This year has really flown by and what a year it's been! The store's first birthday is next Wednesday. Im going to celebrate with cupcakes, a Christmas DJ and a 10% discount all day in the store. It's going to be fun!
