Hello! My name is Cathy and I am in love with everything vintage, handmade, kitschy or just plain cute. I am the owner of Turquoise Flamingo. Let me tell you a little bit about Turquoise Flamingo.
Turquoise Flamingo started as an online store and within just a year I opened up a bricks and mortars store on Washington Street in Cork city right next to my favourite cafe, Gusto. This store was small but full of charm and filled to the brim with vintage clothes and accessories. There was an old record player by the fitting room, 70's wallpaper to brighten up the back of the store, bands played in the window display and many a friend was made in there.
Unfortunately the store had to close (for many reasons) after over 2 years of being open. It was sad but Turquoise Flamingo did not die with it. As the closure of the store was impending I was sourcing and photographing more vintage stock for my online store.
Now Turquoise Flamingo is an online store again and has had customers all over the world. It took a bit of an adjustment but I'm a sucker for change! Now instead of greeting customers all day and coming up with a new window display I am at home with my little girl Nancy, managing the online store, blogging and photographing, coming up with DIY projects, and looking for little adventures.
