If you read the last Nancy Says post, you know that I've been told that a pink birthday cake with sparkles has been ordered! So I got brainstorming and a practise run in this week before her party at the weekend. I found this recipe while browsing online and edited it a little - I didn't have time to shop for beetroot juice so I used a few drops of red food colouring and I wasn't a fan of the marshmallow pops either.
Instead I bought a cardboard number 3 and spray painted it a copper colour, added some glitter, varnished it and used a lollipop stick (also spray painted) to stand it up. Voila! The last touch was some edible gold confetti on and around the birthday cake.
Now to do it all again on Sunday morning!
