vintage holiday on a budget.

I've already mentioned here that I'm going on a holiday with Little Nancy, my sister and my mum so I thought I'd do a post on how to pack a suitcase for a vintage style holiday...on a budget!

 1. Get it fixed. If you're anything like me, you'll have a few vintage summer dresses and some of them don't fit quite well, too long, too big etc. Instead of shoving these back into the wardrobe, get them altered to fit you properly. If you're not a whizz at the sewing machine, send a few off to a professional. It'll be cheaper than buying a bunch of new dresses and once they fit you just right, you'll feel like you went on a little shopping spree without the shopping spree cost!

 2. Buy the basics. Most of the time, I think a vintage piece needs to be the statement piece of your outfit especially when it has an awesome print or pattern. So invest in a few plain tops or shorts to really show off that piece and it gives you the freedom to mix and match a bit more too.

3. Invest in vintage staples. Levi denim shorts for the beach, a small leather handbag for nights out, a floral playsuit or two to take you from day to night. These kinda pieces are worth investing in. They look great summer after summer and will last for years too.

Now please excuse me while I go count how many sleeps 'til we take off!
