nancy's room: a work in progress.

Nancy's room is coming along after making her wardrobe, her ribbon bunting and a quick trip to Ikea for a new (and bigger) cot. I didn't want to go with a theme for her room, just a place with bright colours and shapes for her to wake up to every morning. Right now there's lot of bunting, colourful blankets and lots of teddy bears. But I have yet to fill a big empty corner where there's just a storage box with some of the clothes that are still too big for her.

After some brainstorming I think the best use of this space is a comfortable area where she can play with her toys and I can sit there with her too. I always like the idea of a cosy corner full of cushions and blankets. I have an abundance of blankets so I'm sorted in that area but I've been on the lookout for cushions and think I've found the sweetest ones yet at K&Co cushion designs. At first I was drawn to the skull and cross bones (obsessed with anything pirate-y at the moment!) but the circus parade ones by Kirstie Allsopp are just perfect with the little bunting pattern on them.
A few scattered cushions and blankets and it might even be the perfect place to wind down with her and read a story before bedtime.

I think her room will be pretty much finished then. Next thing I know there'll be posters on the walls and a 'do not disturb' sign on the door!

  1. Hahaha and music so loud you'll be telling her to turn it down... Unless it's Greenday, then you'll be turning it up showing off your cool 'mom moves'
