advertising on a budget.

With an online store, a once upon a time bricks-and-mortar store and a blog I've always been looking for ways to advertise. With so many social networking platforms, these days it can be quite easy to let people know about your business. But sometimes that's not enough. Advertising means constantly trying to grab the attention of your target audience and I've found that most of the time you need to get a little creative when doing so. Getting creative also means you don't need to break the bank! I've put together a few tips on advertising on a budget.
1. Use social media...wisely. Make sure your business has a presence on a few platforms. Facebook and Twitter are still the most popular but there's many more. Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr, the list goes on. Don't spend all your time posting, tweeting, pinning but choose a few platforms that work for you and use them daily.

2. Celebrate. Throw a party. Have a sale. Give out freebies with your purchases. Celebrating your business every so often is important. It's great for the quiet months and it reminds people about your business.

3. Be nice. Treating your customers well is vital. Word of mouth is one of the most important forms of advertising...and it's free!

4. Use what you have. Whether you have a large display area, your photography skills are top-notch or you know someone who is great at graphic design. Use what you have in front of you. Don't think that spending lots of money on something means it will work.
