a weekend to remember.

Seeing this sign, it's hard to not get excited when you drive into an estate where you'll be camping for the weekend. Sorry, glamping. And glamping it was indeed! We headed down to Dromquinna Manor in Kenmare last weekend, car loaded up, Nancy asleep in the backseat and the air conditioning full blast. I had a feeling I was a little too excited but I was wrong. It was just perfect.
We unpacked our things in our tent. It feels wrong to call it a tent! There was a king size bed, a travel cot for Nancy, a wardrobe and some wooden furniture decorating this not so humble tent. We then headed down for a little dip in the water and then spent the evening barbequing and relaxing in the sun. Nancy went off to sleep at her usual time and we sat out on the deck watching the sun go down over Kenmare Bay.
The following morning, we awoke to a breakfast basket at our tent door and a sunny day yet again.

This was one of those weekends I want to never forget, you know? And I really don't think I will.

  4. I love the idea of "glamping"...and now thinking of taking it up a notch! A bunch of girls in vintage dresses roasting marshmellows for s'mores...truly glam camping! I may need to do this now :) Great pics, and great blog!
