DIY t-shirt necklace.

This is one of my favourite DIYs so far, just because you only really need 3 things to make this. Like when recipes just have a few ingredients, they're my favourite! So, here's what I did:

I gathered together an old t-shirt, a few beads and a scissors. I cut 8 strips from the t-shirt (about 2cm wide, they're curl up and get narrower as you're working with them). One strip needs to be a little longer than the rest (this is the one that goes around your neck and mine was 50cm long). The other 7 were 25cm long.

Next, I threaded beads onto both ends of the long strip and tied two knots to secure the beads. I left about 5cm at both ends for tying more knots.

Then, one by one I started adding the small strips to both ends of the long strip with a knot. When you're done, you're going to have a messy pile of knots so for a more finished look I wrapped the last two strips around these knots and tucked the very end in under the coil I made.

Ta-dah! A new necklace and it didn't even cost a penny! I love it and I've already planned my next one, chunkier with turquoise fabric.

  1. Lovely! I love the color. Usually I'm not a huge neon fan but it's really great as an accent!
