a closer look: shivery wicks.

It's always great to see people being proactive in a recession. When I heard that Caroline was setting up an online store when she called into Turquoise Flamingo one day, I was very excited to see the end result. It really is a lovely corner of the internet. I love her unique pieces and I adore the unique name. My favourite piece at the moment is the vintage oval ring, it's so pretty!

Where did the name Shivery Wicks come from? There was a particularly old, narrow, winding, country road which could be one of the routes home when on Sunday spins when I was small. My grandfather nick-named this road Shivery Wicks from years before I was even born, so it was always just called this. Every time we were anywhere near this road we would always ask could we drive down Shivery Wicks for the way home as to us smallies it seemed such a novelty. To this day this country road is always called Shivery Wicks at home by all the family so I thought this would be a great name for my online shop to keep the name alive.

What's your favourite colour?
My fave colour would have to be purple.

What's your favourite decade? Oh it is a tough one, it's between the 50's and 60's but if I have to choose just one it would be the 50's. I just love the glamour of the 50's and also the fashion in the films set in that time. Audrey Hepburn is my style icon.

What's your favourite piece in your online store at the moment?
At the moment, the piece I love the most on my website is the 'Indian Shield Style Necklace'. I will be a little sad when someone does buy it.

And this necklace sold just before I blogged this post! Check out Shivery Wicks for some awesome jewellery and accessories.
